OUR BAM COACHES

Our Head Coach, April Cheadle

April has coached BAM for 16 years. She has been honored by US Masters Swimming multiple times as Coach of the Year within our regional team, Pacific Northwest Association of Master Swimmers (PNA), as well as nationally. As a Level 4 coach she has lead PNA as our regional team’s head coach. Her guidance, positive motivation, and sharing of expert knowledge are incomparable. Whether you are a beginning fitness swimmer or a seasoned competitive swimmer, April will enhance the Masters Swimming experience for you.


Kate Meyers

Kate has been leading workouts for BAM for at least ten years. She is retired from her legal career and her time on the Kitsap County Court bench. She has mastered her other avocation, the theater. Kate has performed and directed plays for The BPA and Island Theaters. She is a tenacious competitor at Masters Meets.



Lisa Classeon-Gordon

Island-born, long time BAMMER, Lisa, has worked at the Bainbridge Aquatic Center as head of the education program at the pool. Her coaching on stroke technique and the aquatic life make her a valuable asset to the team. She is a Zen swimmer.



Tamara Tulou

Another long time BAM swimmer—about 17 years—Tamara is a valued Aquatic Center employee as assistant coach and diving instructor for beginners. She embodies the joy of swimming. Tamara carries the mantle of organizing and running BAMFest, our own meet and primary fund raiser for BAM BOOSTERS.
